Our twins!
Here they are, Baby A and Baby B. These are two of the MANY pictures that we got when we went to Fresno and had the 3D/4D ultrasound done. It was amazing to see how detailed their little faces are and to imagine what they will look like when we finally get to see them!

3D/4D Ultrasound!

We went to Fresno the day after the baby shower to have this done and it was amazing! For those who don't know, this is a different kind of Ultrasound where you can actually see your baby in 3D. You can see its face and all of its features, you can see individual fingers and toes, everything! And with 4D, you can see the baby moving around, making faces, waving their hands and feet! We spent an hour looking at our two girls and we were in heaven! We couldn't stop smiling as we walked out of the office. It really got us both very excited to see and meet the babies! We got some great pictures that I will have to post!

Father's Day!!
I am a little late in posting these, but i couldn't resist showing Erik's face as he got his presents on Father's Day! He got everything he wanted, so he as a happy kid! I also made him a special breakfast--homemade blueberry pancakes!! The most special part of Father's Day came on Saturday when we went to Fresno and had a 3D/4D ultrasound done! It was amazing and a perfect way for Erik to spend his day!

Mom and Dad-to-be...

The cake, well, half of it anyways...

Kelly made a bold attempt to make us this cute cake in the shape of baby blocks with little "K's" on them...Well, the recipe called for fondant, that stuff they use on wedding cakes? Well, having never worked with it before, Kelly quickly realized how difficult it was to handle, let alone try and wrap it around these small blocks of cakes! Also, since fondant is pretty much Crisco, there is not much taste involved...so, she made two, adorable little blocks and then sent Joe out for cupckaes! I wanted to get a picture, but someone had already eaten one!! You can still get the idea...How cute!

All the girls...(minus one, Mackenzie had to leave early...)

Good friends...we became close over ""Lost" and "Soprano's" dinners at each other houses...Now, part of the group is leaving! Kelly and Joe (on the right side) found out they are moving to Japan! Joe leaves this Saturday and Kelly will stay on through the summer to finish her classes...Hopefully she will be able to see some babies!!

The party planner/throwers...

Ashley, Kelly, and I posing for some baby shower pics...I am HUGE compared to these girls...

Ashley and Matt's present begins...and ends!
Ashley put this present together for us. Being the smart new aunt of a premie niece, she is my go-to girl when it comes to figuring all this baby stuff out! She took one look at our registry and saw that we had no premie clothes, among many other things, registered! So, she bought us a good supply for the girls and then put them all in this hamper on a "clothesline" with clothespins! It was an adorable present that everyone at the party could participate in opening! As you can see....

This little onesie that Erik is holding was given to us by our friend Mackenzie. It has a jet on it and says, "NAS Lemoore"...once again, I am sure Erik will only dress the girls in these...

Erik's mom crochet-ed two of these gorgeous blankets for the twins! They are leaps and bounds ahead of my little blanket that I knitted! Everyone at the party ooohhhed and awwwwed over them!

Erik holding up the little newborn ballet slippers that my mom got the girls! Precious...

One of our best presents of the night--custom-made John Hiltz onesies! Only John would think of making these! He also made some that say, "My Daddy is a jet pilot" I am sure Erik will dress the girlies in these only....Help me!

The present opening begins!! Our friends "showered" us with the most adorable little onesies, baby booties, and all that fun, cute baby stuff! Erik was in heaven!!

Scenes from a baby shower...
Ashley and Kelly really went all out for this party! Kelly made this centerpiece with the theme "Two Peas in a Pod"--adorable! There was so much food, good friends and a lot of fun! It was such a special night for Erik and I, and the twins!

Baby Shower!!

This past Friday night, our dear friends Ashley and Kelly, threw us the most wonderful baby shower! Here I am about to go off to the party in my new "party dress"!!

On her last night with us, we took Laurel to Visalia, two towns over from Lemoore. There is this brewpub we like to go to over there and the town is a little bit bigger than Hanford with just a little bit more going on. Actually, we took Becky out there when she was visiting us, and I think we almost sat at the same table!!! There was a BBQ-fest going on that night, complete with a beer garden and live music! We stayed and watched for a bit. We picked out a Dolly Parton look alike and also a cute boy in the band!!! We had a good time and we were sad to see Laurel leave us at 4:50am the next morning! (She had the 6:30 flight outta Fresno!)

I have been really bad about keeping up with the blog lately...Sorry! But we had some visitors over the past few weeks, so let me try to catch up! Our first visitor was Laurel!! She came out for a few days and kept me company by the pool! She was even here to celebrate Erik's promotion to Lieutenant! We wanted to do something special for him so we went out to the grocery store to try and find a balloon that said congratulations, BUT, since its graduation time around here, all they had were grad-themed balloons! We found this little number--it was the only one that didn't say "grad" on it, so we snatched it right up, along with a cookies and cream ice cream cake--Erik's favorite! Only after we got home, as Laurel was trying to doctor the balloon up to say Navy or Lieutenant did we realize the "U" was probably for "university"!!! Oh well, it was the thought that counted, right??

I finished!! Here is my first knitted "blanket"!! My mom is here now and she thinks we need to add something to the edge, but other than that, I think I did a pretty good job! I have already started to make the second one, for my other little girl and while my mom is here we are going to try and make some little hats. Bubba showed my mom how to make one over Anna's graduation weekend so we are going to attempt to re-create Bubba's perfect little hat. I will give you an update later...Until then, how do you like my "blanket"?

Our last few hours in Catalina. Erik bought me a new puh-rse (purse!!) so I was posing with it in front of the fontain. The fountain is made of Catalina tile which is very beautiful and very expensive! Until next time, Catalina...

Sunday afternoon in Avalon...We had been seeing people walking around eating these delicious looking concoctions, so we finally decided to find out what they were and get some for ourselves! They are chocolate-caramel-nut-white chocolate-covered apples! Probably 1 million calories, but we just couldn't resist having one...hey, we did share it!

More pics from the country club. We actually found out that the Chicago Cubs used to have spring training here at this club back in the 30s. It was a very nice restaurant and we were able to eat outside. I was glad to have my pashmina from Sissy's wedding to use though, because the temperature dropped drastically when the sun went down. Oh, this is my new "Liz Lange for Target" black dress. How do you like it??? :)

Sunday Night at the Catalina Country Club...
We decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner out at this country club. We walked from our hotel to the golf course and then to the restaurant. It was a beautiful evening and I made Erik pose in front of the course. He did not want to do this by the way!!

Sunday in Avalon...
We decided to take a "Glass Bottom Boat Tour" this afternoon. Apparently, Catalina is where the original glass bottom boats started so it seemed like a big tradition here to take a ride and see the kelp forests and fish. It was almost like we were scuba diving, although I am sure Erik would have loved to actually be under the water. (He forgot his scuba diving card....) Our boat was full of little kids who were ooohhhh-ing and awwwwww-ing the whole time!
Hmmmmm, I look pretty huge BTW in this picture...ahhhh well, its those twins!

Big Saturday night out in Avalon! Here is what our night consisted of: dinner at an Italian restuarant on the water and a movie at the old theater in the casino. And guess what we saw there? Over the Hedge, the new animated movie! It was really cute, but the chairs were no stadium seating at the Kentlands!! I kept moving around and shifting all my extra weight and just couldn't get comfortable! I actually couldn't wait for the movie to be OVER! But it was nice to be in the old theater and as a bonus, we were treated to a organ concert before the movie started! Felt like I was back in the 20s!

Here are some views from the top of the casino, outside on the balcony. This was about the time that the day started to turn warm and sunny. We didn't need those fleeces anymore!!

We took a tour of the casino on Saturday afternoon and this is a picture from the circular ballroom on top. You can still rent out the space for parties and weddings. hmmmmm, we were thinking of maybe having another wedding there??? (hheeeheheee) It is a beautiful place.

Here we are at the "Beach Club" in Avalon. They were having a big party for Memorial Day weekend and there was a band playing Beach Boys songs and people were dancing and drinking fun beach drinks! I didn't want to miss out, so Erik ordered me a non-alcoholic pina colada. It was delicious!

Some more Catalina pics...we had lunch on Saturday on the pier at a place called "Fish and chips"....i just had some chicken tenders, afraid of the white, fried fish! But Erik had some and said it was good....maybe next time!
