The meeting...

They are all very informal and we go over a few updates and talk about an upcoming events, like the change of command or a picnic or when the guys will be going away again!

Her kitchen table is a piece of glass mounted over tin piping...and she has mismatched chairs all around! Very cute...

The wives gather from some "chit-chat"...Oh yes, my girls came with me to the meeting along with Janelle's little Jack...the other children in the pics are the CO's boys, who kept my two company during the meeting...

Officer's Wives Club Meeting....

Some of you may not know, but when you are in the navy, you have a "spouse club"...in our case the Wives' Club...the Commanding Officer (CO)'s wife is the one in charge and she coordinates all of our meetings and events...Our current CO's wife, Kalyn, hosted her last meeting last Wednesday, as her and her family are leaving the squadron come August 17...She had us all over to her beautiful home for deserts and tea...she has an amazing eye for decor and as you can see from these pictures that her husband (the CO) took during the meeting, her home is just lovely!

Kip and Janelle invited us all over the other night for a BBQ with his parents in town to see new baby Jack...we supplied the prison gate (see background) while Holly brought her new toy, his Winnie the Pooh train..poor Holly, these girls took her toy away and played with it for the rest of the evening! Needless to say, we had to go out to Tahhh-get the next day and get one too!

Now, as we wave good-bye, we are thinking hapy thoughts of seeing him in a few hours--this was not the case, however...he had to go fly to Portland and it was there that the really expensive plane broke down and where Erik had to stay for the next three nights with no clothes and no toothbrush!

On Sunday, we went back over to Moffet field to send Erik on his way...We were able to see him get all of his gear on and climb into the plane and then take-off...some major plane nerds were also there (see man on ladder-left) I guess they had heard a f-18 was going to be landing and taking off there that weekend so they came out to take picture and video of erik...they were all retired Navy and knew more about the plane than Erik did!

We were a spectacle walking around before the game...These girls were dressed from head to toe in Yankee gear...Erik got them their own jersey/onesie/cheerleader outfits and they had on their pink yankee hats...people were stopping us to take our picture! It was ridiculous...but fun!

Weekend in San Fran plus the Yankees!

I know I a still behind but there are just so many cute pics that I want to share! We had the chance to go over to San Francisco to see the Yankees play the Giants over the June 25th weekend so we combined the trip with our neighbors and all went out and had a wonderful time...Erik was able to fly the jet to Moffet field in Sunnyvale (San Jose area) so I drove while he flew and we met up on Friday afternoon/evening...he had little bit of a problem coming home on SUnday and we didn't actually see him again until Wednesday night...something about a broken plane and being stuck in Portland, Oregon? Hmmmmmm, this Navy!
