Weekend Recap! Cambria and San Simeon (central coast)

This past Sunday, the girls, my mom and I drove over to the central coast of CA and stayed in San Simeon...It was a beautiful sight, the mountains dropping off into the Pacific, but it was COLD! And we were frozie! We tried to take Sophie and Lucy for a little walk by the shore, but it was way to windy and cold for them and for us, so we ran back to the car! But my mom did try the baby carrier and she did great! That is her holding Lucy! (You can hardly tell who is who with all the blankets and hats we bundled them in!)

Aside from our attempted beach stroll, we explored the little town of Cambria--very artsy and cute! Lots of stores and cafes...We drove the 1 and saw the Hearst Castle from afar...we did not try to go on the tour since the weather turned for the worst...next time (for a Sissy visit perhaps?) Then, on the way there and on the way home, we stopped at some wineries in Paso Robles, where the girlies were a hit with all the wine tasters! All in all a good weekend and we will definitely have to go back in the summer when it isn't so damn cold!!!

CARROTS!!!
Its official, the babies have entered the world of REAL food...well, sort of---baby food! They had their first taste of carrots Tuesday night and they absolutely LOVED them! There were some ugly faces at first, but then those little mouths started slurping away to get those carrots in! I have video but i am not sure how to upload that on to the blog! for now, here are some pics of the big event!!!

Oh the hills of San Francisco! And with a baby stroller! I almost didn't make it up!

Our first pair of sunglasses! (I couldn't resist and I mean, we do live in California! The sun is really bright here, they NEED them!! They are from my fav baby store, Janie and Jack so again, how could i pass them up!!!)

All bundled up for the cold San Francsico wind! (Sort of look like kamakazee pilots, huh?)

Dinnertime!!
After our stroll around town we checked into our fancy-schmancy hotel down in Union Square and promptly had to feed the girls their dinner of oatmeal cereal....Joe and my mom took over as I snapped away! They have got the whole eating thing down\ This week, we are on to veggies!!
Leah came to the room for a visit and enjoyed our room service with us...Then, Joe and my mom took over as Leah and I went out on the town!! (Ha! We just went out and walked around! But it was nice to have a "night out" again!) We did end up going to a bar! Lefty O'Doul's a very touristy piano bar! We had a good time people watching and listening to the cheesy piano guy play such hits as Piano Man and Mrs. Robinson! Oh yea, he was irish!

Dolores Park

On our stroll of Joe's neighborhood, he decided to take us to this beautiful park where EVErYONE was hanging out, having picnics, throwing frisbees and being crazy San Franciscans! I did note a new hairdo being sported by the girls--a sort of modified mullet--very long stringy pieces inthe front and very short in the back. Pretty damn ugly if you ask me! But I live in Lemoore, not San Francisco! Skinny jeans were everywhere, even the "hipster" guys (as my cousins would say!) had them on! And those did NOT look pretty! But it seemed pretty fashionable...Sissy, Laurel, Bec--you would have LOVED people watching in this park! Next time you come!!! The baby twins just fell asleep!

Joe's Room

Fun with Grandmommy!
Our first stop when we got into San Fran was Joe's house to feed and change these girls! His room provided the perfect place for us to do that!

Big Weekend in San Francisco!

This past Sunday, my mom and I went to visit Joe in San Francisco. We got to see his new room and its new look--color--indian paint brush! We also got to walk around his neighborhood, enjoy the beautiful weather and some good burritos from the local taqueria! Here are some pics from the weekend...note: Joe's new hairdo!

Happy Birthday Sissy and Michael!

Following in the footsteps of my cousins, I am giving birthday shout-outs to Sissy and Michael today!!! I dug up these old pics on my computer...actually the one of Sissy and I was from last year in San Fran...just before I realized I was gonna have not one, but TWO babies! Jeez, a lot can happen in a year! The one of Michael and Ann was from Thanksgiving 2005 when we had our dance party in the farm's kitchen....At this point Ann and Michael were seranading us with CCR classics!

Well, we are wishing Michael and Sissy a very happy birthday today! We miss you and send our love...

Happy Valentines' Day After!!
Well, my mom and I (who refused to have her picture taken) decided to have over some friends for Valentines' Day since we were all without our "sweethearts" this year...We indulged in cupckaes from a local Hanfrod bakery and chocolate covered strawberries from another local Hanford French bakery...We commemorated the evening with a photo on my RED couch complete with bare walls! I saw this picture and realized I need to do SOMETHING about the decor in this house!!! Maybe I should listen to Courtney and do the huge poster-sized pics of the babies! Hmmmmm, a little too "Old School" the movie for me??? We shall see....Oh yea, you may ask, "where are the babies"--long asleep!!! They are so good!
