Weekend Recap! Cambria and San Simeon (central coast)

This past Sunday, the girls, my mom and I drove over to the central coast of CA and stayed in San Simeon...It was a beautiful sight, the mountains dropping off into the Pacific, but it was COLD! And we were frozie! We tried to take Sophie and Lucy for a little walk by the shore, but it was way to windy and cold for them and for us, so we ran back to the car! But my mom did try the baby carrier and she did great! That is her holding Lucy! (You can hardly tell who is who with all the blankets and hats we bundled them in!)

Aside from our attempted beach stroll, we explored the little town of Cambria--very artsy and cute! Lots of stores and cafes...We drove the 1 and saw the Hearst Castle from afar...we did not try to go on the tour since the weather turned for the worst...next time (for a Sissy visit perhaps?) Then, on the way there and on the way home, we stopped at some wineries in Paso Robles, where the girlies were a hit with all the wine tasters! All in all a good weekend and we will definitely have to go back in the summer when it isn't so damn cold!!!

Yes we must go to the Hearst tower! Maybe I get some kind of discounted tour? I'll have to look into that.

The babies look like they're almost too big for the carriers! Can't believe it. Next thing you know, you'll be carrying them around on your back in one of those 70's style carriers for bigger kids (do you know what I'm talking about? Are they even still around? I think they were made out of sharp metal, so probably not!)

My fiance is in Paso Robles this week. She is there for a horse show, although they have been in the area for a week, eating and drinking. Her friend Lisa's family has a winery in Sisquac, near Santa Maria. That's where they were staying last week. You two may have bumped into each other!
