All I have to say about this picture is, what in the world was I thinking with that hat! Blossom comes to mind! Also, it brings back some scarring memories of maybe the worst sunburn I EVER had after buying my "furst" bikini with my auntie bubba supervising the purchase! (Mommy was away in Colombia that summer!)

Ahhh, memories. That "Thumbs Down on Drugs" shirt was really hot back in the day. Oh, I just realized something. If Karl is wearing her uber cool "Dancing Bears" WMHS class of '97 T, that means Sissy and I were about to enter high school ourselves. Yikes.
I believe this was the summer we first developed our obsession with Scopes. "Ya'll want to get some Scopes?" (pronounced with an OC accent). Or was that when we were at the Quay?
I think we need to start coming up with captions for these pics! Like, what do you think Grandmommy is saying to Karl?

I can't believe that I supervised your first bikini purchase! I don't think I knew enough then to do that! I remember the whole house smelled like air fresheners, and it was miles from the beach. Andres was heading to college that summer, I remember.
